How should I groom my Bernedoodle?

Bernedoodles have beautiful wavy coats, and of course, you'll want to make sure your Best Furry Friend stays looking flawless! Here are a few essential steps to ensure their coat remains healthy and mat-free.

At Texas Original Doodles, we recommend regular grooming to maintain your Bernedoodle’s coat and overall well-being. Start with brushing your Bernedoodle at least three times a week to prevent mats and tangles. Use a slicker brush or a metal comb to work through the hair gently, paying special attention to areas prone to matting, such as behind the ears, under the arms, and around the tail.

Regular baths are also crucial, but be sure not to over-bathe as it can strip the coat of natural oils. Use a high-quality dog shampoo and conditioner to keep the coat soft and manageable. On average, a standard Bernedoodle can weigh between 70 to 90 pounds and stand about 23 to 29 inches tall at the shoulder. However, there are also Mini and Medium Bernedoodles, which tend to be smaller. Mini Bernedoodles usually weigh between 25 to 49 pounds and are about 18 to 22 inches tall, whereas Medium Bernedoodles can weigh between 50 to 70 pounds and stand around 19 to 25 inches tall.
